Immunizations have started. Hepatitis A & B are conveniently delivered in the same knot-forming-arm-numbing shot. Two for A, three for B. The Centers for Disease Control recommends the following if you’re vaganbondish and will be in the tropics for more than a short stay:

Routine vaccines

  • MMR (measles-mumps-rubella)
  • Diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis
  • Varicella (chickenpox)

Most travelers

  • Hepatitis A
  • Typhoid

Some travelers

  • Hepatitis B
  • Rabies

The list may seem long but if you work in healthcare or food service you tend to have all of these, with the exception of rabies and typhoid. Unless you’re a chef, and a bat.
